Public transportation in The Netherlands – is luckily for you and me – very good. The trains run often and will get you everywhere throughout the country very quick and comfortably. There are buses, trams and metros that will help you get around as well. While you will hear Dutch people complain about the train system, keep in mind that they do it because they are spoiled. Honestly, I used to complain as well. That was up until the moment that I decided that our public transport system is a whole lot better than most countries on the world. And we take it for granted.
I will be honest. In general, public transport isn’t the cheapest in The Netherlands. However, our transportation system generally runs pretty often and even many of the small villages have a small bus connection that runs a few times a day.
