Groningen. This province in The Netherlands is unlike any other. It is home to only 584.000 people, of whom of which 200.000 of them live in the capital Groningen. Yes, this province has the same capital name as the province. The city Groningen is worth a visit, because it’s so vibrant and different than many other cities, yet feels familiar.
The biggest part of the Groningen province is the countryside, just like the neighbouring provinces Friesland and Drenthe. Because of that you will find beautiful, small villages in the Groningen province that are filled with history. You will see stretched out tulipfields and incredible national parks in the Groningen region that will leave you in awe. The Groningen province is simply stuffed with places to visit and things to see.
